Domain Name Buying Resources

Looking to Buy Domain Names? I've compiled a quality list of resources you may like.

First, we'll start with a tip for choosing the right domain name: You can make mashup names such as mag.nolia, or del.icio.us using tools such as below (short URL's are almost always better):
http://www.bustaname.com/ - Word Combiner
http://www.morewords.com/ends-with/it - Find words that end in what you want (e.g. "us" or "net")

Does the Top Level Domain (.net, .com, .etc) domain matter?
Take a look at this growing list of TLD's on Wikipedia.org!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Internet_top-level_domains

Not sure if your domain name is memorable? Here's some tools to help you find what's popular on the internet:
https://adwords.google.com/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox - Google Keyword Selctor (higher price = usually more popular, in my experience)
http://www.google.com/trends?q=funnies&ctab=0&hl=en - Google trends, see general trends happening on the internet
http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ - Yahoo Keyword Selector, lets you know how many people search for things on the internet

Find a name you like, but would rather a different name with the same meaning?
http://thesaurus.reference.com/ - Try the thesauras (watch out, they have pop-up ads!!)

Now that you've got your juicy domain name finding tools, you may be in need of some hosting. I'm hosted through CirtexHosting who I'm also in affiliation with. Their server uptime isn't guaranteed as high as most (99.5% whereas most are 99.9%), but their price and server speeds are better than anywhere else I've hosted so far! Plus you can have unlimited domain names on the standard or better plan (4.50/mo+ for yearly). Well get a domain and start hosting!
