Bumble Bee on Sunflower

By: David Rader II on August 07, 2007 @ 5:43 AM

While walking through our back yard, I spotted a sunflower, just beginning to open. On my way back through the yard, I found a bumble bee on the sun flower.

After taking some photos, I realized the bumblebee wasn't camera shy. Either that or it gets drunk as it gathers pollen and fulfilled its appetite, such as our visual needs for articles like this. I decided to take some video, so here it is for you!

In case you too are concerned about the decrease in honey bee population, I posted a thought about it here.

So you know, eventually, the bee did do what I feel was circle around my head, and caused me to run like a cheetah. The only other options were to let it sting me or smack it and I don't want to get hurt, and I don't want to hurt it either. Well, I suppose it could of just landed on me and licked my ear, but I wasn't taking any chances.

There's also a fancy image of a bumble bee with its mouth open here (towards the end of the page).
