A funny question so often said...

"What is the meaning of life?"

What is the "meaning" of a twig?

Perhaps the twig itself has no meaning.

However, from the existence of the twig you may deduce to conclude that there must have been a tree and life must have flown through it at some point to make it (albeit seemingly slowly) animated (growing).

From the existence of life, you may deduce that there must be death, and that for either to exist, they must have a purpose, if that is so what you believe.

So, a better way to phrase the funny question, is through a phrase which is often used interchangeably with the first phrase, which seems incorrect: What is the purpose of life?

If perhaps the purpose of universal life is just for it to be (in existence) and perhaps the purpose of knowledge is to allow the experience of happiness, than it would stand to reason that the purpose of life for the one who is able to obtain knowledge is to learn and explore to increase the chances of learning and thus happiness.
