Why have a bunch of trees between every house to act as both environmental and social buffers…

When you can have asphalt and bricks to ensure pollution is concentrated around rivers and coastal areas?

There a numerous positives for urban sprawl. There are positives to concentrating population in high density areas too. My opinion is that both are certainly necessary, but it’s easy for the 10 to 1 urbanite vs rural to be easily outvoiced. There’s a lot of money in high-density housing which also hurts the balance.
