Before deactivating an old website, I wanted to save a copy of the content of a PHP driven website. Rather than downloading a database (which is still useful) of raw data, I wanted to download it in its prettyfied HTML viewable version. This way, I can just open the index and navigate the site from a file on my computer (or flash drive).

Enter the free tool: HTTrack Website Copier

I just tested it out and it worked pretty superbly. Downloaded over 500 files and searched over 350 links in less than 5 minutes. This was a small content heavy site, but with little imagery. The entire file is less than 7 MB. If you have a image-rich website, I imagine your download speed will affect things.

If you like it,
